Sara Melson's unique and arresting voice cracks and pierces with vulnerability and strength, echoing a blend of Cat Power, Mazzy Star, Carole King, and Patti Smith. She writes, performs, and records on piano and guitar, solo and with her band, experimenting live and in the studio with various interpretations of her dreamy, anthemic folk-pop.
A Harvard graduate and former professional ballerina, Sara was previously signed to Nettwerk Records, and has released three full-length albums, three EPs, and numerous singles. “Wound Too Tight”, a collaboration with Rami Jaffee of the Foo Fighters, has been described as “a meditative trip through a hypnotic and ethereal sonic landscape”. Her songs have been widely featured in film and television, including Grey’s Anatomy. She has shared the stage with Moby, Ben Folds, Julianna Hatfield, Silversun Pickups, Lissie, and many others.
Prior, as an actress, Sara guest-starred in numerous teen roles on classic television shows, including Frasier, The Wonder Years, Murder She Wrote, and Beverly Hills, 90210. She is currently recording a new album, to be released in the spring of 2024.
